GM / SM Finance

Job PurposeThe CFO is responsible for financial operations, financial reporting, business planning, budget control, corporate & tax laws compliance and risk management. The role will also be responsible for team building and capacity enhancement of finance functionRole and Responsibilities

· Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting strategic initiatives

· Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans

· Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and reporting to the Management

· Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities

· Manage the capital request and budgeting processes

· Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

· Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

· Maintain checks on financial expenditures and prudent utilization of resources; make recommendations for improving services and reducing cost in all business operations to include developing improved procedures for cost reduction in office activities.

· Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities

· Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team

· Manage the accounting, tax, and treasury departments

· Implement operational best practices

· Oversee the issuance of financial information

· Report financial results to the board of directors

· Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile

· Construct and monitor reliable control systems

· Maintain appropriate insurance coverage

· Ensure that the company complies with all regulatory requirements

· Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of internal & external auditors and government departments

· Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors

· Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

· Ensure monthly and annual filing of income tax and sales tax returns. Coordinate with tax consultants for defending the tax cases at relevant forums.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Cost & Management Accountant or Chartered Accountant experience.

· Minimum 12 years’ experience in the relevant field. Minimum 3 years out of which should be as Head of Finance function in a medium to large sized organization.
