Position Overview

Work Generations is seeking a skilled Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The candidate should have experience with cloud architecture, networking, security, automation, and DevOps practices to support scalable and secure cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Configure and maintain Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud SQL, and Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, and cost efficiency
  • Implement cloud security best practices, IAM policies, firewall rules, and data protection
  • Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar tools)
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines for application deployment
  • Configure backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and application issues
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and operations teams
  • Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong knowledge of GCP services, including:
  • Compute Engine
  • Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Cloud Storage
  • Cloud SQL
  • Cloud Functions
  • Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
  • IAM (Identity & Access Management)
  • Cloud Monitoring & Logging
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform is preferred)
  • Knowledge of Linux system administration
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, DNS, VPN, Load Balancers, and Firewalls
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Cloud certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent)
  • Experience with DevOps tools and automation
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
  • Experience working in MSP, Cloud Services, or Software Development environments
