Position Overview
Human Capital, on behalf of its client, is seeking experienced and well-connected Government Relations Officers for its Karachi operations. The selected candidates will be responsible for managing government relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting key strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Government Liaison & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ministries, public offices, commissioners, law enforcement agencies, and other government bodies
- Act as the primary point of contact for all government institutions
- Represent the company in official meetings, forums, and engagements
- Ensure timely handling of all government-related matters
Regulatory Compliance & Licensing
- Manage licenses, permits, NOCs, and regulatory approvals
- Ensure compliance with telecom laws, policies, and statutory requirements
- Coordinate with internal Legal and Compliance teams for renewals and filings
Policy Monitoring & Advisory
- Monitor telecom regulations, digital policies, taxation, and infrastructure laws
- Analyze regulatory changes and advise management on business impact
- Support government inspections, audits, and lawful data requests
- Assist in staff safety coordination and travel advisory awareness
Documentation & Reporting
- Draft official letters, memos, regulatory submissions, and meeting notes
- Maintain database of government contacts
- Track approvals, correspondence, and compliance records
- Prepare reports for senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Public Administration, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Business, or a related field
- 6–7 years of relevant experience in government relations or a similar role
- Certifications in Industrial Relations (preferred)
Key Skills
- Strong government networking and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of Pakistan’s regulatory framework (PTA, Ministry of IT & Telecom) preferred
- Excellent drafting and official correspondence abilities
- Understanding of telecom operations and compliance requirements (preferred)
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and political awareness
- Strong coordination, follow-up, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
