Graduate Geologist

Pennoni is currently seeking a Graduate Geologist to work in our Geotechnical Engineering team while based at our office in Bethkehem, PA office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitoring soils and earthwork construction.
• Assist with geotechnical field investigations.
• Working in the field at building construction sites as a Quality Assurance representative; this involves observing, documenting and reporting on the construction work and performing construction materials testing.
• Inspecting construction and materials compliance with the drawings and specifications.
• Materials include reinforced concrete, masonry, soils, earth work, and foundations.
• Field testing of plastic concrete, grout, mortar, block, and soils.
• Communicate and coordinate with the engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Work construction hours (which may include overtime).
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements:

• B.S. in Environmental Geology, Earth Science, Geosciences, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on construction projects is a plus
• Ability to read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, and communicate technical details.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
