The ideal Graphic Design Intern is a creative, motivated student with a passion for visual storytelling and design. This intern will help bring New Jersey LCV’s mission to life through compelling graphics and branded materials used across events, digital platforms, and communications campaigns. They will gain hands-on experience designing materials for major organizational events, social media campaigns, and outreach efforts, while working with a collaborative team dedicated to protecting New Jersey’s environment. This opportunity provides a talented student the chance to see the behind-the-scenes work of a leading environmental organization while building a professional design portfolio tied to real-world campaigns and events.

This is a part-time paid internship from July – December 2026.

Primary Responsibilities:

● Design event-related, digital and print-ready materials for New Jersey LCV programs and events, including invitations, flyers, signage, programs, and promotional graphics.

● Create graphics and visual content for social media platforms to help promote organizational campaigns, events, and environmental advocacy initiatives.

● Support the design of digital assets such as email graphics, web visuals, social media toolkits, and campaign branding.

● Assist in developing visual storytelling materials that communicate environmental issues such as climate change, environmental justice, clean energy, and conservation.

● Work with staff to maintain brand consistency across design projects, ensuring materials reflect New Jersey LCV’s mission and visual identity.

● Support the creation of promotional materials for major organizational events such as the Annual Gala, Art of Conservation, Sustainable Business Roundtables, and other community events.

● Assist with photo editing, layout design and formatting of digital and print materials.

● Contribute creative ideas to strengthen the organization’s visual presence across digital and print platforms.

Qualifications:

· Strong graphic design skills and familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, or similar platforms.

· Creative thinker with an eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling.

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines.

· Personable, dependable team player who enjoys collaborating in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work remotely using your own computer and design software.

· Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation required.

· Interest in environmental conservation, advocacy, or nonprofit work preferred.

Compensation: Part-time internships are paid. Compensation is $16 an hour, for 15 hours/week. While we do not participate in internship-for-credit University programs, we are happy to confirm internship hours and provide the internship job description upon request. At this time, there are no employer-sponsored visa opportunities available.
