Graphic Designer

Family Resource Group, Inc., which produces Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, Pink & Blue, Kid Scoop News, Nola Family Magazine, Colorado Parent Magazine, Cincinnati Family Magazine, Birmingham Parent Magazine and numerous ancillary publications is seeking a full-time Graphic Designer with the ability to think conceptually as well as aesthetically.

For over 35 years, FRG’s mission has remained the same: To inform, educate, and be a resource for our community and to make our advertisers wildly successful. This position requires a self-motivated, reliable team player with a positive professional attitude.

The designer's main function will be to design ads for clients and collaborate with the Publisher to ensure the creative execution of innovative design concepts across print, web, and marketing materials.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee your own projects through to completion
• Work with the Client Success Manager to ensure all ad materials are collected, created, and processed
• Demonstrate a passion for design and creative thinking
• Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• Pay extreme attention to detail and consistency
• Coordinating with outside agencies, clients, creative art team, digital team, marketing, photographers, printers, and colleagues, as necessary
• Ensure team deadlines and specifications are met
• Follow and maintain branding standards
• Assist with special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
• Experience as a graphic designer or in a related field, including but not limited to advertising, marketing, and multimedia design
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
• Must be proficient in Google applications
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
