We are seeking a motivated and inspirational graphic designer to support the strategic communications and education & programs divisions. The ideal candidate will have experience with graphic design and communications. This internship is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students or graduate students looking to gain practical experience in graphic design while contributing to a long-lasting legacy in ND State Parks.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: $17.00/hr

Duties and Tasks

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for assisting with a range of print and digital design projects including but not limited to print media, social media and web graphics, educational signs, and overall webpage design for ND Parks and Recreation.
  • As the Graphic Design Intern, you will play an active role in producing generational lasting media products throughout the state of ND.
  • Assist with the creative process and design of a variety of marketing elements for all divisions including but not limited to rental equipment, special events, workshops, and educational initiatives.
  • Follow and adhere to brand standards and design deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle responsibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program in the United States for the duration of the internship.
  • Must be at least sophomore standing by the beginning of the internship (or have completed the first year of a vocational/technical program).
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Internship duties must align with the student's academic major or career goals.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
  • If selected for an interview, candidates will be required to provide a minimum of five samples of graphic design work.
