Graphic Designer / Production Artist

Grand Rapids Graphix is seeking a candidate for the position of Graphic Designer/Production Artist, working with and supporting an automatic screen print press and embroidery for apparel production. Pay is based on experience. Experience with direct to film heat transfer printing is a bonus.

Applicant needs to be responsible, reliable, detail oriented and willing to work with others to get each job done on time and with the highest quality our customers expect, in a fun and results-oriented work environment.

Compensation is $15-20 per hour depending on work consistency and experience.

Normal business hours are Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM. Qualified candidates will be called back by telephone, please make sure to provide a current phone number.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and adjust artwork for screen printing, embroidery, and promotional product decoration.
• Create color separations, mockups, and production proofs.
• Ensure all files meet technical specs for size, placement, resolution, and color accuracy.
• Collaborate with sales reps, customers, and the production team to clarify design details and approvals.
• Maintain organized digital files and templates for efficiency and consistency.
• Assist in developing creative design solutions when customers need artwork support.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop required).
• Understanding of screen printing/embroidery artwork requirements (color separations, vector art, PMS matching, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues before production.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once in a deadline-driven environment.
• Previous experience in a print shop or apparel decoration environment preferred, but not required.
• Bonus if you have experience or knowledge on DTF direct to film heat transfer production.
