At Stoner Graphix, we don’t design for screens—we design for the real world.

For over 35 years, we’ve created custom signage, branded environments, vehicle wraps, and large-format graphics that are built, installed, and experienced in physical spaces.

We’re looking for a Graphic Sign Designer who understands that great design doesn’t stop at how it looks—it’s about how it’s built, installed, and experienced.

If you love typography, layout, and creating original designs—but also enjoy thinking through materials, scale, and real-world application—this is your role.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (REAL DESIGN, REAL APPLICATION)Signage & Environmental Design

• Design custom signage systems, branded environments, and large-format graphics
• Create layouts for dimensional signs, wall graphics, wayfinding, and exterior signage
• Develop concepts that translate from screen to physical production

Production-Ready Design

• Prepare files for fabrication, printing, and installation
• Work within real-world constraints (materials, scale, installation methods)
• Ensure accuracy in sizing, layout, and production specs

Collaboration

• Work closely with Account Managers to bring client visions to life
• Collaborate with Production to ensure designs are buildable and efficient
• Revise and refine designs based on feedback and real-world considerations

Creative Contribution

• Develop original concepts—not templates
• Maintain brand consistency across multiple applications
• Balance creativity with function and clarity

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Must-Have)

• Strong experience in graphic design (Adobe Illustrator required)
• Solid understanding of typography, layout, and composition
• Ability to design original concepts (not template-based work)
• Detail-oriented with strong file setup and organization skills
• Ability to take direction and collaborate with a team

Highly Valuable (but not required)

• Experience in signage, environmental graphics, or large-format design
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, or installation processes
• Experience preparing files for print, CNC, or production workflows
• Familiarity with scale-based design (large signage, vehicles, etc.)

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

• Your experience is primarily social media or marketing graphics
• You rely heavily on templates or pre-made assets
• You don’t enjoy working within real-world production constraints
• You’re not detail-oriented with file setup and accuracy

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENT (IMPORTANT)

To be considered for this role, you must submit a portfolio of your work.

Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

Your portfolio should demonstrate:

• Original design work (not template-based)
• Strong typography and layout
• Projects that show real-world application (signage, large format, branding, etc. preferred)
