Job Purpose

The Group Director - Learning Innovation and Programme Excellence is a transformative leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving DP World’s innovative learning strategy while overseeing the governance, operations, and delivery of enterprise-wide learning programmes. This role drives a global, technology-enabled learning agenda that aligns with business priorities and ensures consistent execution through effective programme management and operational excellence. The successful candidate will, also, lead the coordination of Global Shared Services resources, optimising capacity, processes, and partnerships to deliver scalable, high-impact learning solutions. By harnessing emerging technologies, AI-driven insights, and robust programme governance, this role empowers DP World’s workforce, strengthens organisational capability, and sustains the company’s competitive edge in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Vision & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning innovation and programme excellence strategy aligned with DP World’s business objectives, digital transformation roadmap, and future workforce priorities.
  • Translate emerging industry trends and best practices into actionable, scalable learning and operational initiatives that drive measurable business impact.
  • Serve as a thought leader in digital learning, programme governance, and shared services optimisation — inspiring innovation and operational excellence across the organisation.
  • Champion a culture of accountability and performance, ensuring alignment between digital learning strategy, programme outcomes, and enterprise transformation goals.
Digital Learning Enablement, Transformation & Delivery
  • Elevate digital learning as a strategic and operational value driver by transforming traditional frameworks into an AI-powered, data-informed ecosystem that accelerates capability development and business agility.
  • Lead the strategic enablement and global delivery of digital learning through OneLearn, ensuring seamless integration, accessibility, and personalisation to meet diverse workforce needs.
  • Leverage AI, data analytics, and automation to optimise learner experience, programme delivery, and performance measurement.
  • Integrate cutting-edge learning technologies and methodologies to ensure scalable, high-impact, and future-ready digital learning solutions.
Programme Management, Operations & Governance
  • Lead the global programme management office (PMO) for digital learning initiatives, ensuring structured planning, execution, and governance across all business units and regions.
  • Establish standardised programme management frameworks, operating models, and reporting mechanisms to enhance transparency, delivery efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee end-to-end programme operations, including scheduling, budget tracking, vendor coordination, and performance reporting.
  • Drive operational excellence through process optimisation, workflow automation, and service-level agreement (SLA) adherence.
Global Shared Services Leadership & Resource Optimisation
  • Lead and coordinate Global Shared Services resources supporting digital learning, ensuring optimal utilisation, capability alignment, and performance management.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and regional shared services leaders to align global delivery standards, build capability, and ensure consistency across all learning operations.
  • Develop and manage a resource planning framework to forecast, allocate, and optimise human, financial, and technological capacity.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange within shared services teams to strengthen delivery efficiency and global alignment.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships with senior stakeholders, regional leaders, HR, IT, and operations teams to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Partner with external vendors, thought leaders, and technology providers to maintain a best-in-class learning ecosystem and drive innovation.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to leadership, providing insights on digital learning performance, programme outcomes, and workforce readiness.
Team Leadership & Capability Development
  • Develop and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team of digital learning, technology, and programme management professionals.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build functional capability within both the core team and global shared services network to enable sustainable growth and delivery excellence.
Performance Management, Analytics & ROI
  • Establish clear KPIs and success metrics for digital learning and programme delivery performance.
  • Leverage data analytics, dashboards, and feedback loops to measure engagement, impact, and ROI, using insights to continuously improve learning and operational outcomes.
  • Ensure reporting transparency and performance accountability across global programmes and shared services operations.
Change Management & Cultural Enablement
  • Lead enterprise-level change management initiatives to embed digital learning, innovation, and operational discipline into DP World’s culture.
  • Communicate a compelling vision for digital learning transformation, ensuring high adoption and engagement across regions.
Budget, Resource & Vendor Oversight
  • Manage the global budget for digital learning and programme operations, ensuring strategic investment and maximum ROI.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships, contract negotiations, and service delivery to ensure quality, scalability, and compliance.
Other
  • Responsible for the leadership and development of an engaged team, ensuring goals are aligned, measurable, and performance-driven.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World, promoting positive behaviours consistent with our Principles, Values, and Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure all activities uphold the highest standards of safety, ethics, and professionalism.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support organisational priorities.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning Technologies, Instructional Design, Business Administration, or a related field — Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in digital learning strategy, technology-enabled programme management, and enterprise learning operations within a global organisation.

  • Proven ability to design, scale, and operationalise digital learning ecosystems across diverse geographies and business units.

  • Demonstrated expertise in programme management, governance frameworks, and operational delivery of global learning initiatives.

  • Strong background in AI-driven learning solutions, digital content automation, and data-informed decision-making to enhance workforce capability.

  • Experience leading or collaborating with Global Shared Services to manage resourcing, delivery, and process optimisation for enterprise programmes.

  • Advanced proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) preferably Cornerstone, including configuration, administration, and performance analytics.

  • Strong understanding of eLearning development tools and digital content lifecycle management.

  • Experience deploying multilingual, AI-powered learning programmes and platforms to serve diverse global audiences.

  • Proven success in vendor and partner management, including selection, contracting, and performance oversight for large-scale learning technology implementations.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, engaging effectively with HR, IT, regional leadership, and external partners.

  • Track record of building and leading high-performing, cross-regional teams, fostering innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.

  • Deep knowledge of next-generation learning trends, digital transformation practices, and enterprise capability development strategies.

  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
