Role Overview
The Group Head – Media Account Management will be responsible for leading a portfolio of key paid media accounts, managing and mentoring Account Managers, and acting as a strategic partner to clients—especially across
D2C and performance-driven brands
. This role combines
client leadership, revenue growth, team development, and operational excellence
, ensuring long-term client retention and scalable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Strategy

Act as the senior point of contact for key clients, building long-term, trust-based relationships.

Develop a deep understanding of client business objectives (short-term & long-term) and translate them into actionable media strategies.

Ensure clients receive high-quality, cost-effective, and ROI-driven media solutions.

Set clear expectations with clients on deliverables, timelines, performance benchmarks, and outcomes.

Drive account retention, relationship growth, and client satisfaction across the portfolio.

Identify opportunities to increase media spends, retainers, and introduce new services/products.
Revenue Growth & Business Expansion

Own revenue growth across managed accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and new initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SEO, Creative, Video, Tech, Analytics) to unlock integrated growth opportunities.

Participate actively in new business pitches, including research, insights, and presentation development.

Identify and plan media strategies for key moments such as festive seasons, sporting events, and cultural occasions.
Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Media Account Managers and executives.

Set KRAs, performance metrics, and growth paths for team members.

Coach teams on strategic thinking, client communication, and performance-driven execution.

Encourage cross-functional exposure and learning opportunities for team growth.

Ensure knowledge sharing, best practices, and learnings are implemented across similar accounts.
Operations, Processes & Governance

Oversee smooth account operations including invoicing, contracts, and meeting cadence (weekly/monthly reviews).

Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful reporting that is data-driven and outcome-focused.

Establish and enforce onboarding checklists and processes for new and existing accounts.

Conduct regular internal reviews to improve planning, execution, and campaign performance.

Ensure internal ROI benchmarks are defined and consistently achieved across accounts.
Media Excellence & Innovation

Oversee media planning and execution to ensure alignment with approved strategies.

Stay updated on platform innovations (Google, Meta, programmatic, emerging paid channels).

Ensure 100% certification and continuous upskilling of teams across relevant media platforms.

Drive adoption of new ad formats, innovations, and performance levers across accounts.

Brainstorm with media ops and account teams on optimization and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies

6+ years of experience in media account management, preferably in an agency environment.

Strong exposure to
paid media and performance marketing
, especially for
D2C brands
.

Proven experience managing teams and large client portfolios.
-
Strong client-facing, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Data-driven mindset with a clear understanding of ROI, CAC, LTV, and performance metrics.

Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution excellence.
