We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Guidewire Data Conversion Lead to spearhead complex data migration initiatives within Guidewire insurance platforms. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of Guidewire data conversion strategies, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with business analysts, system architects, and technical teams to define data requirements and mapping specifications for Guidewire modules such as Claims, Policy, and Billing.
- Develop and implement scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes utilizing tools like Informatica, Talend, or custom scripting in Python, Bash (Unix shell), or Shell Scripting to facilitate efficient data migration.
- Manage large-scale data sets using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Hive, Spark, and Azure Data Lake to optimize performance and ensure data integrity during conversion.
- Design and maintain robust database schemas in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational databases to support accurate data storage and retrieval.
- Utilize cloud platforms like AWS and Azure to deploy scalable solutions for data processing and storage needs.
- Implement RESTful APIs for seamless integration between Guidewire systems and external applications or data sources.
- Conduct thorough analysis of source data quality, identify discrepancies or inconsistencies, and develop remediation plans.
- Oversee model training and validation processes for linked data applications to enhance data accuracy and predictive capabilities.
- Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies by participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document all conversion processes meticulously; prepare comprehensive testing plans including unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Provide technical leadership during cutover activities; troubleshoot issues promptly; coordinate with stakeholders for issue resolution.
- Promote best practices in database design, analytics implementation, and overall data governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading Guidewire data conversion projects within insurance or financial services environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle databases; experience with database design is essential.
- Hands-on expertise with ETL tools such as Informatica or Talend; scripting skills in Python, Bash (Unix shell), or Shell Scripting are highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of Big Data ecosystems including Hadoop, Apache Hive, Spark; experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure Data Lake is preferred.
- Familiarity with Guidewire modules—Claims Center, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter—and their data structures.
- Knowledge of RESTful API development for system integration purposes.
- Experience working with Looker or similar analytics tools for reporting insights derived from converted data sets.
- Strong analysis skills to evaluate source systems’ data quality; ability to design effective database schemas for complex datasets.
- Exposure to Model training techniques involving linked data for predictive analytics applications.
- Ability to work effectively within Agile teams; excellent communication skills; proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Knowledge of additional tools such as VBA for automation tasks; familiarity with Shell Scripting enhances versatility. Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.35 - $60.64 per hour
