Clinical Care:
- Provide nursing care to patients in antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecology wards.
- Assist obstetricians and gynaecologists during deliveries (normal and caesarean) and minor/major surgical procedures.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs during labour and document progress accurately.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections as per physician orders.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during all procedures and ensure infection control practices.
- Provide breastfeeding guidance and newborn care education to mothers.
- Assist in emergency situations such as postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, etc.
Patient Care & Education:
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, hygiene, nutrition, and postnatal care.
- Offer emotional and psychological support to patients during labour and recovery.
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, and dignity at all times.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely records in patient files and ward registers.
- Report any adverse events, medication errors, or clinical incidents promptly.
- Ensure completeness of discharge summaries and patient education notes.
Coordination & Teamwork:
- Collaborate with doctors, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver holistic care.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings.
- Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
Compliance & Quality:
- Follow NABH, infection control, and hospital nursing standards.
- Participate in training, audits, and continuous quality improvement programs.
- Maintain stock of medicines, consumables, and equipment in the ward.
