Gypsum Supervisor

Job Summary

The Gypsum Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all gypsum-related works on-site, including gypsum partitions, ceilings, wall cladding, and decorative works. This role ensures that all work is completed according to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards while maintaining safety and productivity on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily gypsum work activities, including partitions, ceilings, bulkheads, wall linings, and decorative elements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications to guide site teams.
• Plan, organize, and assign tasks to gypsum workers, carpenters, and finishers.
• Ensure all works are carried out according to approved shop drawings and quality standards.
• Monitor materials and tools to ensure sufficient stock for daily operations.
• Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of gypsum works.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, alignment, and finishing quality before client or consultant inspections.
• Enforce safety regulations and ensure all workers follow site safety procedures.
• Report daily progress, manpower usage, and material requirements to the Project Engineer or Site Manager.
• Assist in resolving any site issues related to gypsum installation or finishing details.
• Ensure that wastage of materials and rework are minimized.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in gypsum and ceiling works (preferably in the UAE).
• Strong knowledge of gypsum systems such as:
• Gypsum board partitions and ceilings
• Metal framing and suspension systems
• Fire-rated and acoustic systems
• Decorative gypsum works (cornices, moldings, bulkheads)
• Experience in interior fit-out or finishing projects.
• Ability to manage a team of workers and maintain productivity and quality.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Familiar with site safety and quality standards.
