Manage and improve assigned applications business processes and support critical retail strategies through the oversight of application systems. The focus is on the effective management of application lifecycle, ensuring the availability, efficiency, and reliability of transactional systems, while leading a team of developers and analysts to meet business objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to setting the strategy of the IT applications department, through overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of applications, ensuring they align with business needs and strategies.

  • Manage a team of developers and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage the team performance and track and evaluate their achievements while providing continuous feedback and evaluation to ensure the department achieves set objectives.

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of assigned applications that align with the organization’s retail strategy.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for assigned applications to ensure they meet or exceed service levels.

  • Ensure seamless integration and operation of assigned applications with other retail and business systems.

  • Apply project management principles to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in line with business expectations.

  • Develop training programs for end-users and super users to maximize the utility and performance of applications. Gather feedback and run testing cycles to ensure applications are bug free.

  • Collaborate with system integrators, technical vendors, and consultants to enhance application capabilities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify system needs and deliver scalable solutions as well as help identify opportunities for automation and improvement of in store operations and implement solutions to enhance efficiency of customer experience.

  • Develop and manage budget forecasts for departmental needs, including software procurement and staffing in addition to projects budget to ensure that services and products are delivered according to agreed standards and contracts.

  • Implement best practices for application security, data protection, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to drive continuous improvement in operations, while developing and maintaining documentation for system processes, procedures, and configuration.

Working Hours : 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1 hour break)

Job Requirement

Education

  • BSc in IT or related field, with a focus on systems design or application management.


Experience

  • 10+ Years of Experience


Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), programming languages, and frameworks relevant to the organization's tech stack.

  • Understanding of database technologies, SQL, and data management practices.

  • Skills in analyzing business requirements and transforming them into technical specifications.

  • Awareness of networking, hardware, and software infrastructure

  • Knowledge of security protocols, data protection, and risk management

  • Understanding of cloud services (like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Trello, or Microsoft Project for managing IT projects.

  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
