Job Description:General Description:
The HCM Business Process Analyst responsible for working with key stakeholders throughout NVCC to ensure the continued service delivery of the Oracle Cloud human resources (HCM) and finance (ERP) systems. This role will work closely with functional area subject matter experts and IT stakeholders to evaluate and deploy new features and functionality as well as reviewing impacts on existing business and technical processes.
Duties and Tasks:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, system administrators, functional area staff/subject matter experts, and project managers, to gather requirements and facilitate the planning of HCM updates
- Analyze, configure, and test various components of the PeopleSoft HCM modules: Human Resources Core, Workforce Administration, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Time and Labor, Recruiting Solutions / Talent Acquisition, Position Management, Absence Management
- Manage and coordinate the entire lifecycle of changes, from planning and design to testing, deployment, and post-implementation verification
- Collaborate with the testing team to define testing scenarios, conduct performance and functional testing, and ensure the successful validation of changes before deployment
- Maintain accurate documentation of change and release management processes, including configuration records, release notes, and procedures, to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Support Security Role updates and Workflow (in coordination with HR staff)
- Help develop a culture of continuous improvement—working with cross functional teams to embrace both application and business process enhancements that make our university more efficient and in line with best practices.
- Actively participate in team cross training by sharing knowledge of assigned PeopleSoft modules, other functional support processes, workflows, and troubleshooting methods.
- Actively contribute to building team-wide redundancy, increasing team resilience, and improving support coverage.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required KSAs:
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve functional and technical issues within enterprise human resources and financial systems, including cloud-based SaaS and on‑prem ERP environments.
- Knowledge with the principles of change and release management for cloud-based software-as-a-service applications within an enterprise environment.
- Strong ability to leverage technology to support and enhance service delivery, business operations, and institutional objectives across HR and finance domains.
- Ability to analyze data within enterprise systems, identify data inconsistencies or conflicts, and work collaboratively to resolve data integrity issues across integrated applications and interfaces.
- Knowledge of key finance and human resources business process (e.g. procure to pay, recruit to hire) and how technology and business processes can be used in coordination to find efficiencies.
- Proven ability to coordinate, guide, and support the work of cross‑functional teams involved in configuring, testing, and supporting enterprise software applications.
- Ability to read, interpret, and clearly explain the business and policy implications of system documentation, configuration decisions, and application changes to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic enterprise application support environment.
- Working knowledge of enterprise application tools and reporting technologies, including any of the following: PeopleSoft PeopleTools, Application Designer, nVision, Crystal Reports, and SQL, with the ability to analyze system behavior and support functional requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with HR users, finance users, technical staff, and institutional stakeholders.
- Functional understanding of human resources and financial business processes as enabled by ERP systems, including areas such as recruit‑to‑hire, payroll, benefits, time and labor, and procure‑to‑pay.
- Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to get others excited about change and process improvement; respectfully asking questions about why current processes are in place.
- Passionate about improving the employee and student experience by ensuring efficient processes and applications.
Minimum Work Qualifications:
- Experience in providing production support for new releases and features to Peoplesoft ERP System and its interfaces to such as: Workforce Administration, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Time and Labor, Recruiting Solutions / Talent Acquisition, Position Management, Absence Management
- Experience in communication, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Progressive functional experience delivering end-user service related to the application, or technical experience supporting functional staff use of the application

- Relevant certifications such as Oracle PeopleSoft HCM certifications, ITIL Foundation, Prosci Change Management, or comparable credentials are preferred.
- Proven Experience working with Oracle Cloud or similar enterprise applications
- Proven Experience doing process improvement within finance and human resources business processes
- Experience with Cardinal HCM and Cardinal FIN
- Experience with enterprise application tools and reporting technologies, including any of the following: PeopleSoft PeopleTools, Application Designer, nVision, Crystal Reports, and SQL, with the ability to analyze system behavior and support functional requirements.
- Ability to get others excited about change and process improvement; respectfully asking questions about why current processes are in place.
- Experience with community college business practices in a college office
