We are looking for a Head Accountant to lead our accounts department, oversee all day-to-day financial activities, and manage a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Accounts & Bookkeeping: Supervise recording of all sales, purchases, expenses, and payments in BUSY ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE/ERP and ensure accurate accounting entries.
- Team Management: Lead and guide the accounts team, delegate tasks, review their work, and ensure timelines are met.
- Bank & Cash Management: Oversee daily reconciliation of bank accounts, petty cash handling, vendor/customer payments, and fund flow.
- Taxation & Compliance: Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, PF/ESI, and other statutory returns; liaise with auditors and consultants for statutory audits.
- Inventory & Costing: Coordinate with operations and warehouse for stock reconciliation, costing of books/puzzles, and maintaining proper control.
- Receivables & Payables: Track outstanding payments from distributors, marketplaces, and retail partners; manage vendor payments in line with credit terms.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly/quarterly P&L, balance sheet, and MIS reports for management review.
- Process Improvement: Identify gaps in current accounting processes and implement controls for efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordination with Management: Work directly with the Directors on financial planning, budgeting, and strategy.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Qualifications: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA (Inter or Final preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 6–8 years in accounting and finance; experience in publishing/manufacturing sector preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Tally ERP, MS Excel (advanced), GST, TDS, and other Indian accounting standards.
- Team Handling: Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of accountants/executives.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines.
