Head Nurse

Woodston Personnel is seeking an experienced Head Nurse to join our client’s hospital in KSA.

Organizational Relationships:

• Reports to: Clinical Director

• Responsible for: All Nursing Staff of assigned area

• Liaises with: Nursing staff and other multidisciplinary team

Job Summary:

• Responsible for the 24 hour management, administrative functions and monitoring of practice to ensure effective and efficient operation of

  the assigned area according to policy and procedures.

• Demonstrate effective leadership and management skills in ensuring the delivery of patient and family centered care.

• Support the professional and personal development of all nursing staff and works as an effective member of the caring team.

• Assesses, plans, implement, evaluates and monitors standards of care.

• Act on behalf of or in the absence of the Clinical Director.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Uphold philosophy, mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Executive Nursing Affairs and the hospital.

• Utilize efficient management of human and material resources within the assigned area.

• Use and storage of all equipment and supplies.

• Periodic Preventive Maintenance (PPM).

• Staff rotation, schedules and leave allocation.

• Follow-up of staff valid requirements for re-contracting to help speed up with lacking steps.

• Ensure that standards of care, policies and procedures are effectively and safely practiced.

• Adeptly manage the information of patients, staff and hospital records.

• Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, promotion and retention of staff.

• Support Saudization Nursing Development Program (SNDP).

• Support and guides pull-out staff allocated to the area.

• Raise the morale of the nursing team by Recognize and value contributions from the individual within the ward and provides

  clinical support.

• Participate in direct patient care working as a team member and promote highest standards of evidence Based practice.

• Ensure patients and staff confidentiality.

• Facilitate in ordering, following, receiving and distribution of supplies and collaboration in inventories.

• Actively participate in Nursing and Hospital-Wide committees.

• Observe and respect patients, Bill of Rights and responsibilities.

• Maintain effective line of communications within the department and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

• Establish partnership, facilitating team building and works collaboratively with other health team member.

• Conduct regular departmental meetings.

• Responsible for updating requirements and documents as required periodically such as expiration of Saudi Council Registration.

• Utilize conflict management strategies to address issues and concerns in the area.

• Promote staff development through education and training based on identified needs.

• Practice culture of safety.

• Provide health education to patients, relatives and care givers.

• Assume responsibility with the scope of practice.

• Participate in the development, revision and implementation of unit based competencies in the assigned area.

• Lead in performance improvement activities and utilize data to develop action for improvement, evaluation and document of

  outcomes.

• Perform other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of the employees, knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education / Licensure

Essential

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from accredited school or University.

Current License of practice from country of origin with current Saudi Council Registration as Specialist.

Desirable

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

Current License of practice from country of origin with current Saudi Council Registration as a Senior Specialist.

Professional Experience

Essential

For Bachelor's Degree holder: Minimum of five (5) years post registration experience, at least two (2) years must be spent in

the relevant specialty.

For Master's Degree holder: Two (2) years' experience.

Broad clinical experience or post basic certificate in area of responsibility.

Specialized Knowledge

High Standard of leadership and managerial sklls.

Excellend written, spoken and comprehension in English.
