Staff Nurse 1

Woodston Personnel is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse to join our client’s hospital in KSA.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Reports to: Charge Nurse/Head Nurse

  • Responsible for: Staff Nurse 2, Staff Nurse 3 and Support Assistants

  • Liaises with: All members of the inter-disciplinary team

Job Summary:

Responsible for the provision of nursing care that meets the hospital’s Competency Standards for Registered Nurse, including individual

accountability for action within the scope, practices and framework for Registered Nurse in accordance with the hospital’s and Procedure.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Clinical

  • Deliver and maintains safe quality nursing care according to the hospital’s policies and procedures.

  • Utilize evidence-based approach in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.

  • Recognize and act on changes in patient condition, making safe, timely decisions appropriate to the situation.

  • Assist team leaders and members in liaising between healthcare professionals, physicians and allied healthcare professionals to ensure

    appropriate medical care is provided to all patients.

  • Ensure that appropriate documentation e.g. consent medical assessment and others is obtained and maintain for patients undergoing relevant medical treatment.

  • Respond to life-saving situation following the appropriate nursing standards and protocols to treatment.

  • Ensures safe administration and management of medication after passing the competency.

  • Apply knowledge and operates safely in handling specialized and technological equipment.

  • Advocate on behalf of their patients to ensure quality healthcare services are provided.

  • Maintain professional interpersonal relationships with patients, families and coworkers/ other members of the health care team.

  • Maintain and protect the safety, confidentiality and dignity of patients and families.

  • Maintain a clean, safety and tidy unit.

  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patient related information in relation to service provision and healthcare treatments and services.

Leadership and Management

  • Provide support to all nursing staff.

  • Contribute on the development of the nursing team by: Recognizing and valuing contributions from individuals within the team. providing clinical support, working with the team members to define clear individual roles and responsibilities.

  • Ensure all written or verbal information is clear, accurate and presented that is appropriate to the target group.

  • Deliver all communication with clarity, accuracy and free from jargon.

  • Provide education to patients, relatives and care givers.

  • Handle conflicts and misunderstanding in a professional manner and satisfactory resolution is achieved.

  • Act as a professional role model, mentor, and preceptor for staff and students.

  • Deal with complaints promptly and sensitively with appropriate documentation and follow-up reports to the Charge Nurse.

  • Assume accountability for quality care delivered to patients.

  • Take charge of the unit in the absence of the Charge Nurse/Team leader.

  • Implement the mission and values statement and standards of the Nursing Department.

  • Monitor the use of stock items and order when necessary.

Professional Development

  • Participate on continuing education, facilitate training activities and teaching other members of clinical staff.

  • Takes responsibility for own professional development.

  • Provides health education to patients, relatives and caregivers

  • Maintains generic and unit specific competencies up-to-date.

Quality Improvement

  • Participates in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Uphold quality initiative that improve customer care and enhances that interface between staff and patients.

  • Participate in the implementation and evaluation of action plan for performance Improvement.

  • Develop and review policies, procedures and required protocols in collaboration with relevant nursing leaders and managers.

  • Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of the employee's knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Apply the measures and guidelines of Patient experience improvement projects.

Education / Licensure

Essential

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)

Current practicing license from country of origin and with current Saudi Council Registration as a Specialist.

Certificate Certified BCLS, Sedation Course Certified, ACLS, PALS, NRP and Chemotherapy Course for specialized areas such as Emergency Department, GICU, NICU, PICU, OAU, Labor Ward, Ward 5N, CDU, Rheumatology Day Case, Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis.

Post basic certificate in area of responsibility.

Professional Experience

Essential

Non-Saudi: Minimum of Four (4) years experience in general nursing in a tertiary level hospital.

Meet Generic and Unit Specific Competencies in the designated area of specialty

Saudi: One (1) year experience is preferred
