Head of Accounts & Finance- Egypt

Role Purpose

The role will act as the operational finance lead in Egypt, ensuring full ownership of local accounting operations, payroll, compliance, team management, and internal/external deliverables.

This role enables the Head of Finance to step away from day-to-day Egypt operations, with only high-level approvals and strategic oversight remaining at HOF level.

Core Responsibilities

A. Operational & Accounting Oversight (Egypt Books)

  • Full oversight of Egypt entity books of accounts
  • Ensure timely and accurate:
  • Weekly, mid-month & month-end invoicing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Vendor reconciliations
  • Payroll postings
  • Accruals & provisions
  • Ensure all tasks required for month-end closure are completed by 2nd week of following month
  • Support Financial Controller readiness for management reporting
  • Maintain clean audit trail and documentation
  • Liaise with external auditor & tax advisor (operational coordination)

B. Payroll & Compliance (Egypt)

  • Full responsibility for Egypt payroll processing accuracy & timeline
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Egyptian labor law
  • Social insurance
  • Tax requirements
  • Coordinate payroll review and approvals
  • Manage employee additions, removals & final settlements
  • Ensure payroll cost allocation accuracy

C. People Management & Resource Planning

  • Direct people management of Egypt Accounts Team
  • Workforce planning with Team Lead & HOF
  • Recruitment coordination with HR
  • KPI evaluation (monthly/quarterly)
  • Lead quarterly & annual appraisals
  • Recommend annual increments (with HR & HOF approval)

D. Performance & Capability Development

  • Identify employee knowledge gaps
  • Arrange technical & system training
  • Monitor improvement plans with Team Lead
  • Drive accountability culture

E. Internal & External Deliverables

  • Accountable for:
  • Client deliverables
  • Audit schedules
  • Tax submissions support
  • System issue escalation
  • Highlight operational, resource, or system risks to HOF proactively
  • Ensure zero last-minute escalations

F. Governance & Escalation

Escalate to HOF only:

  • Budget deviations
  • Hiring approvals
  • Salary increments
  • High-risk compliance matters
  • Major system or operational failures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: E£50,000.00 - E£70,000.00 per month
