Job Title: Head of Business Development

Location: Sharjah, Hamriyah Free Zone (FZE)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Business Development to lead, develop, and oversee a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Sales Coordinators operating across local and international markets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in structuring and managing sales teams across Africa, MENA, and GCC regions within the industrial chemicals manufacturing or chemical distribution sector.

This role requires strong expertise in sales team development, KPI and commission design, target setting, talent acquisition, and performance monitoring. Familiarity with Sales CRM systems and remote marketing management will be a strong advantage.

Your primary goal will be to drive operational excellence, expand market share, and strengthen the brand’s presence—while ensuring consistent top-line growth for the company.

Key Responsibilities1. Team Leadership & Management

  • Supervise and guide BDMs and Sales Coordinators locally and internationally, ensuring clear communication and effective execution of objectives.
  • Assign and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly tasks based on strategic business priorities.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and continuous support to enhance team performance.

2. Target Setting & Performance Monitoring

  • Define clear and measurable KPIs for each team member.
  • Monitor sales progress, market penetration, and business development activities to align with company objectives.
  • Analyze and report sales metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement improvement strategies.

3. Strategic Sales Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive market expansion and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships and partnerships.
  • Identify new business opportunities and emerging market trends.

4. Reporting & Coordination

  • Maintain organized systems for tracking activities, sales performance, and results.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting from all team members.
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide strategic insights and data-driven recommendations.

5. Administration & Logistics

  • Manage administrative processes such as travel coordination, expense approvals, and petty cash oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, MBA in Marketing, or Master’s in International Business (preferred).
  • Experience: (UAE) 5–10 years of experience in sales operations, team management, and business development within the chemical trading or manufacturing industry (solvents, lubricants, specialty chemicals, or raw materials).
  • Proven track record of managing remote and international sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategy, reporting systems, and performance metrics.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong client relationship and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM platforms, and sales performance tools.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform effectively under pressure.
