We’re partnering with a top-tier multinational FMCG company to hire a Head of Legal to lead legal operations across Africa. This is a strategic leadership role offering the chance to shape the legal framework, support sustainable growth, and guide commercial decision-making across diverse markets.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Contracting & Commercial Support

Establish and oversee a robust contract management framework for suppliers, distributors, and partners

Lead negotiations and review of agreements spanning distribution, agriculture, and commercial contracts

Ensure contracts are properly executed, stored, and managed to minimise risk
Brand, Marketing & IP Advisory

Provide guidance on marketing campaigns, product launches, and IP protection
-
Ensure business activities comply with local and regional trademark, copyright, and advertising regulations
Agriculture & Sustainability Initiatives

Support legal aspects of agricultural operations, including land use, farming agreements, and supplier relationships

Partner with the business to implement sustainable practices and ESG initiatives
Governance & Compliance Leadership

Maintain and enhance corporate governance standards across the region

Develop compliance programs covering anti-corruption, data privacy, and competition regulations

Conduct audits, risk assessments, and training to ensure adherence to policies
Dispute Management & Labour Advisory

Lead the resolution of commercial disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation

Provide legal advice on employment contracts, labour relations, and regulatory requirements in Egypt
Team Leadership & Functional Oversight

Manage and mentor a small in-house legal team, providing coaching and career development

Partner with senior leadership to ensure the legal function is aligned with business strategy and growth objectives

Own the budget and operational efficiency of the legal department
Who You Are
-
Law graduate with a Master’s degree (LLM or equivalent)
-
10+ years’ experience in legal roles within multinational FMCG, consumer goods, or manufacturing companies
-
Strong background in contract management, compliance, corporate governance, regulatory affairs, and sustainability projects

In-depth knowledge of Egyptian law, with familiarity with legal frameworks across African markets

Fluent in English & Arabic (additional languages are an advantage)

Proven negotiator and strategic advisor, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels
