The ideal candidate will be UK or Western-qualified, with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience, and a proven track record in handling cross-border disputes and arbitration proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs), treaty protections, and related disputes.
- Manage and support international arbitration cases, including strategy development, drafting, and coordination with external counsel.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents with cross-border implications.
- Conduct legal research on international investment law, treaty interpretation, and arbitration frameworks.
- Advise senior management on dispute avoidance, compliance, and investment structuring strategies.
- Monitor and assess developments in international arbitration rules and global investment law.
Qualifications & Requirements
- UK or other Western legal qualification (solicitor, barrister, or equivalent).
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience, with a focus on BITs and international arbitration.
- Strong knowledge of international investment law, arbitration institutions, and treaty disputes.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
- Commercial awareness and ability to align legal advice with business objectives.
