Head of Procurement

The Head of Procurement is responsible for leading the procurement department by devising strategic plans, optimizing sourcing processes, and ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of material's. This role plays a critical part in supporting production and operational needs while aligning with Interwood’s objectives for quality, efficiency, and supplier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that support the company’s objectives.
  • Responsible for 90% order delivery against commitment.
  • Lead the supplier selection process and negotiate terms to secure cost-effective deals.
  • Manage purchasing activities, ensuring timely availability of quality materials.
  • Establish communication channels with internal departments to align procurement needs.
  • Monitor market trends for informed decision-making on product sourcing and pricing.
  • Enforce procurement policies and streamline processes for efficiency.
  • Oversee the procurement budget and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with delivery and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with finance for smooth processing of payments and invoice resolution.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • MBA in Supply Chain Management or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in local and international procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, vendor management, and cost negotiation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
