Head of Product (Liabilities, Branch and Branchless Banking)

Strategic collaboration with Technology, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Experience


Role Purpose

The Head of Product, Branch and Branchless Banking will be accountable for driving commercially viable, customer-centric product strategies across physical branch and branchless banking channels. Reporting directly to the CCO, this role will ensure that product innovation, Market Penetration, Comp Scan, and go-to-market execution are tightly aligned with revenue growth, customer acquisition, portfolio profitability, and market expansion .

The role is pivotal in the bank’s evolution from a microfinance or traditional commercial banking model into a digital bank , integrating global neo-bank product thinking with Pakistan’s regulatory, customer, and inclusion landscape.


Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Product Strategy and Portfolio Ownership

  • Own the commercial product vision and roadmap for branch and branchless banking, aligned with the CBO’s growth agenda.
  • Drive product strategies that balance customer value, revenue generation, and cost efficiency .
  • Lead product portfolio decisions across deposits, lending, payments, wallets, merchant solutions, remittances, and value-added services.
  • Continuously benchmark offerings against global neo-banks and regional digital banks , localizing models for scale and sustainability.

2. Revenue, P&L, and Go-to-Market Execution

  • Own product-level P&L, pricing frameworks, and monetization models .
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies in partnership with Marketing and Sales.
  • Identify and scale ecosystem partnerships, fintech collaborations, and embedded finance opportunities.
  • Track and optimize product performance through clear commercial KPIs.

3. Regulatory, Risk, and Compliance Alignment

  • Please ensure the product complies with the State Bank of Pakistan's regulations , branchless banking frameworks, AML, KYC, and consumer protection standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Shariah teams to embed controls by design.
  • Proactively assess regulatory implications of new digital and branchless propositions.

4. Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Build and lead a high-impact product team across branch-led and digital domains.
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner to the CBO and senior leadership on growth, product performance, and market opportunities.
  • Represent product strategy in commercial, transformation, and executive governance forums.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline, MBA preferred.
  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in hard-core product innovation in commercial banking, fintech, or digital financial services , with senior ownership of product portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading a commercial bank or microfinance bank transformation into a digital bank .
  • Hands-on exposure to branchless banking, agent networks, and digital distribution models.
  • Deep familiarity with Pakistan’s banking and fintech regulatory environment.
