What is Lead HR Business Partner - Branch Banking Network (MMBL)?

As the Lead HRBP for the Branch Banking Network, you will serve as the primary strategic link between the Head of HR, Chief Business Officer and the nationwide branch operations. You will lead a team of regional HRBPs to drive consistent people priorities that enable business performance across all territories. This role is a senior advisor to Regional Business Heads, ensuring that HR strategies are not only aligned with operational needs but are also driving a unified culture and high-performance standards across the entire bank network.


What Lead HR Business Partner - Branch Banking Network Does?

  • Oversee the nationwide HRBP function for the branch network, ensuring regional HR interventions in staffing, retention, and performance are synchronized with the Bank’s overall strategic goals.
  • Lead macro-level workforce analytics to identify capacity gaps and collaborate with senior leadership on long-term manpower strategies.
  • Drive the integrity of the performance management cycle and succession planning across the network, ensuring top talent is identified and developed for leadership roles.
  • Lead large-scale transformation programs, including digital adoption and customer-centric culture shifts, acting as a key change agent for the bank.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex employee relations matters and partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure the entire network adheres to labor laws and internal policies.
  • Analyse and consolidate regional workforce metrics—including attrition trends, headcount costs, and engagement levels—to deliver strategic insights that inform business reviews and executive decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and build the capability of regional HRBPs, ensuring high-quality HR delivery and consistent policy application across all regions.
  • Work in close coordination with the Human Resources Department, the Chief People Officer and the Chief Business Officer to ensure people strategies are aligned with the Bank's strategic vision


What are we looking for and what does it take to be the Lead HRBP?


Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10–12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4–5 years in a senior HRBP or HR Leadership role.
  • Extensive experience managing HR for a large-scale distributed workforce, specifically within branch banking or retail financial services.
  • Expert-level understanding of banking operations, labor laws, and the local regulatory environment.


Essential Skills:

  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior and executive leadership.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of HR professionals across different locations.
  • High proficiency in HR reporting and using data to drive national-level people strategies.
  • Superior negotiation and problem-solving skills to handle high-stakes disciplinary or organizational issues.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience leading organizational design or large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong reputation for integrity and professional judgment in fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness to travel across the national branch network as required to maintain high-touch leadership.
