Head of Quality Control – Specialty Coffee (in Al Ain)

Position Summary

The Head of Quality Control – Specialty Coffee is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of coffee quality across sourcing, roasting, preparation, and final product delivery. This role oversees the development and enforcement of quality protocols, taste evaluation, consistency checks, and overall improvement of the boutique’s specialty coffee offerings. The position requires deep knowledge of specialty coffee standards and strong experience in quality management within a café, roastery, or related environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full quality control process for specialty coffee from bean selection to final preparation.
• Evaluate coffee bean quality, roasting profiles, aroma, taste notes, and overall consistency.
• Conduct cupping sessions and maintain detailed quality records.
• Develop and implement quality standards and SOPs related to coffee operations.
• Work closely with baristas and management to ensure proper brewing techniques and product presentation.
• Recommend and monitor improvements in sourcing, roasting, and brewing methods.
• Ensure equipment calibration and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Train team members on quality benchmarks and identify areas for continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in specialty coffee quality control, barista training, roasting.
• Strong background in specialty coffee tasting, cupping, and sensory evaluation.
• Familiarity with roasting standards, bean grading, and specialty coffee classifications.
• Experience working in specialty coffee shops, premium cafés, or roasteries.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to maintain consistency in high-demand environments.
• Ability to work independently and ensure strict adherence to quality protocols.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
