Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Primary Teacher with 5–7 years of teaching experience to lead and manage the Primary Section (Grades 1 to 5). The ideal candidate will be passionate about child-centered education, skilled in curriculum planning, and capable of mentoring a team of teachers while ensuring the holistic development of students. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high academic and co-curricular standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
- Oversee and coordinate the academic program for Grades 1–5 in alignment with the school’s vision and curriculum framework (CBSE/ICSE/International as applicable).
- Mentor, guide, and support primary teachers in effective lesson planning, classroom strategies, and innovative teaching practices.
- Monitor lesson delivery to ensure quality teaching and learning outcomes across all subjects.
Curriculum & Pedagogy:
- Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate lessons in core subjects when required.
- Introduce innovative and child-centered teaching methodologies including project-based learning, digital tools, and differentiated instruction.
- Lead curriculum reviews and support integration of co-curricular and interdisciplinary activities.
Student Engagement & Development:
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and inquiry-driven classroom environment across the primary section.
- Ensure focus on students’ academic, emotional, and social growth.
- Supervise co-curricular activities and ensure student participation in school events.
Assessment & Reporting:
- Oversee and coordinate formative and summative assessments across Grades 1–5.
- Maintain accurate academic records and ensure timely reporting to parents.
- Analyze performance data to identify areas of improvement and plan interventions.
Classroom & Section Management:
- Ensure discipline, order, and a supportive learning atmosphere across the primary section.
- Handle student-related concerns and support teachers in managing classroom challenges.
Parental & Community Communication:
- Act as a point of contact for parents regarding academic concerns and student progress.
- Conduct parent meetings, orientation sessions, and workshops as required.
Team Collaboration:
- Lead and coordinate with the primary teaching team for curriculum planning, events, and academic initiatives.
- Collaborate with school leadership to contribute to overall policy-making, teacher training, and development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent (Master’s preferred).
- Graduate/Postgraduate in a relevant subject (English, Math, Science, etc.).
- 5–7 years of teaching experience in a recognized primary school, with at least 2 years in a leadership/coordination role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child psychology, pedagogy, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages an advantage.
- Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE/International curriculum (as applicable).
