HSE Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Identify, evaluate, and document workplace hazards, risks, and appropriate control measures for specific operations, activities, and processes.
2. Conduct continuous reviews of operational processes to proactively identify potential safety, health, and environmental risks, and recommend mitigation measures, including evaluation of associated implementation costs.
3. Ensure all hazard identification, risk assessments, and control measures are documented in accordance with approved HSE procedures, standards, and best practices.
4. Establish, monitor, and supervise temporary work areas to ensure compliance with safety requirements and safe working conditions.
5. Supervise the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
6. Monitor and oversee operations involving potential hazards to ensure all safety controls are effectively implemented and maintained.
7. Enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency by supporting the transition from manual HSE processes to IT-based systems and digital safety management tools.
8. Plan and deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to employees and contractors as required.
9. Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies, legal requirements, and local regulatory standards related to health, safety, and environmental protection.
10. Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports; recommend corrective actions; and liaise with relevant authorities where required.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Minimum 6 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), preferably within heavy machinery, construction, or industrial projects .
2. Possession of all mandatory certifications and qualifications as required by local laws, regulatory authorities, and government bodies.
3. Strong analytical skills with a high level of awareness and sensitivity toward potential physical hazards and unsafe behaviors.
4. Fluency in English and relevant local languages , with excellent communication and coordination skills to operate effectively within a matrix organizational structure.
5. High resilience and adaptability to manage complex situations in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
6. Strong drive for achievement, with a proven track record of delivering results and successfully implementing safety improvements.
7. Bachelor’s degree or higher, with professional experience gained from reputable organizations within the industry.
