Health and Safety Manager

We are looking for an Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Kocaeli, Turkey. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the implementation and continuous improvement of Health and Safety (HS) standards across our operations, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture, manage risk assessment and incident investigation processes, and drive initiatives that support a safe and sustainable working environment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic guidance to management on Health & Safety (HS) legislation, standards, and company policies, ensuring full regulatory compliance.

• Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System in line with global and regional standards.

• Develop and enforce HS policies, procedures, and safe working practices to ensure a consistent safety culture across all operations.

• Monitor HS performance through KPIs, reporting, and data analysis, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• Lead risk management activities including hazard identification, risk assessments, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

• Oversee incident and accident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions.

• Manage, mentor, and develop the HS team across both port locations while promoting a proactive safety culture through training and awareness programs.

• Coordinate HS audits, contractor safety management, emergency response planning, and ensure timely closure of audit findings and improvement actions.
  
  

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of HSE experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role .
• Experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems.
• Certified Class B Occupational Safety Specialist.
• Recognized HSE certification such as NEBOSH or OSHA is preferred.
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk assessment practices, and safety management systems.
• Experience with JSA (Job Safety Analysis), hazard identification, and risk analysis methodologies.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and project management capabilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in Turkish and English.
Valid Class B driver’s license.
