We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe workplace culture, and minimizing risks across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards
- Ensure compliance with local and international health and safety regulations
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports
- Organize and conduct safety training, drills, and awareness programs
- Monitor workplace activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance reports
- Recommend corrective actions to eliminate hazards and improve safety standards
- Liaise with external authorities and auditors when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Certified Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits
- Proficient in MS Office applications
