Health & Safety Officer

Job Summary:

The Health & Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of food preparation, delivery and service meet the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role involves the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System to ensure a safe working environment.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills in both English & Arabic with the ability to train and engaged diverse teams.

- Experience conducting health & safety audits and inspections

- Certification in Foodsafety (e.g. Food Safety L-4/HACCP certification)

- Bachelor’s degree in food science, or a related field.

- NEBOSH IGC (mandatory)

- 3–5 years’ HSE experience in catering, hospitality, or food services.

Knowledge:

- Strong knowledge of HSE and food safety local regulations.

Familiar with implementing Health and Safety management system and conducting Risk assessments.

Health & Safety Compliance

- Develop and implement health and safety policies in alignment with the school and local regulations standards.

- Conduct regular inspections of kitchens, food storage areas and meal preparation processes to ensure compliance with health and safety and hygiene standards.

- Monitor and enforce allergen management protocols to prevent cross-contamination.

- Ensure all facilities and equipment meet health and safety codes, including ventilation, sanitation, and pest control measures.

Risk Assessment, Incident Management and Emergency Preparedness

- Identify potential health and safety risks in the food preparation, delivery and service, and implement corrective actions and conduct risk assessment.

- Maintain a system for reporting, investigating incidents.

- Investigate HSE accidents, incidents, and near misses; in addition to foodborne illnesses and contamination.

- Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.

- Coordinate with the Food Quality Assurance Manager & Operations Manager in response to health and safety incidents.

- Support emergency preparedness and response plans (fire drills, first aid, evacuation, chemical spills).

Training & Education

- Develop educational materials and workshops for the staff to increase awareness of health and safety protocols.

- Promote a strong safety culture through HSE awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and training sessions.

- Keep staff updated on the health and safety policy or regulations or best practices in both the production and service area.

Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain detailed records of safety audits, inspections and incident reports.

Monitor and analyze data to identify trends and develop recommendations for continuous improvement and enhance health and safety and reduce risks.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
