Healthcare Data & Billing Systems Associate (Part-Time Undergraduate Position)

Gainesville Vision is a growing independent optometry practice looking for a sharp, self-motivated undergraduate college student to join our team in a hands-on operations role. This isn't a shadowing position — you'll own real workflows from day one, starting with insurance billing and reconciliation and expanding into patient-facing work including optical sales.

We're also actively building AI-assisted workflows into our billing and practice management systems, and we want someone excited to help build them, not just use them.

What you'll do:

• Process and reconcile insurance EOBs in Revolution EHR, our practice management system
• Identify billing discrepancies and follow up on claim exceptions
• Assist with patient scheduling and front-desk operations
• Help develop and test AI-assisted billing workflows
• Train in optical dispensing and eyewear sales

Who we're looking for:

• Currently enrolled at UF, preferably finishing first year entering second
• Studying computer science, information systems, healthcare informatics, or similar — or just genuinely good with systems and data
• Fast learner, reliable, good with people
• Wants real responsibility, not a resume line

Note: This is not a clinical hours position. We're not the right fit if your primary goal is observation for PA, med, or nursing school applications.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
