Healthcare Navigator

About Us

Treflan Surgery is a friendly and professional GP surgery committed to providing high-quality care to our patients. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Heathcare Navigator to join our busy front-of-house team.

Role Overview

As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. You will provide excellent customer service, handle confidential information and support both patients and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and visitors to the surgery in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries
  • Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments
  • Registering new patients and updating patient records
  • Processing repeat prescription requests
  • Scanning, filing, and handling correspondence
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post
  • Liaising with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with GDPR and NHS policies

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional, empathetic, and calm under pressure
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements
  • Welsh speaker

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a GP surgery, healthcare, or NHS setting
  • Knowledge of clinical systems such as EMIS Web, SystmOne, or Vision
  • Understanding of medical terminology
