Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers.
• Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
• Replace or repair shocks & struts, air brakes, tires, HVAC systems, and perform wheel alignments to ensure vehicle safety and efficiency.
• Assemble new equipment or parts following technical specifications; troubleshoot issues with electrical systems or mechanical failures.
• Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs accurately for compliance and future reference.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering maintenance advice to clients or team members.

Requirements

• Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
• Dealership experience preferred but not required; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands is advantageous.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of working with schematics for complex repairs.
• Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery.
• Knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, and tire service procedures.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working with power tools and industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience; excellent problem-solving skills in troubleshooting complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service; detail-oriented with the ability to follow technical instructions precisely.
