Heavy Driver

Job Summary

The Heavy Driver is responsible for safely operating heavy vehicles such as trailers, tippers, flatbeds, tankers, vacuum trucks, or heavy construction vehicles. The driver ensures timely delivery of materials/equipment while complying with Qatar traffic rules, company policies, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Vehicle Operation

• Drive heavy vehicles (e.g., trailer, tipper, crane truck, bus, or others as assigned).
• Operate equipment safely in accordance with Qatar laws and company procedures.
• Load, secure, and offload materials in a safe manner.

2. Transportation Duties

• Transport materials, goods, or passengers between sites.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules.
• Ensure timely delivery to required locations.

3. Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
• Keep the vehicle clean and in good operating condition.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Follow Qatar traffic rules and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies.
• Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, trip sheets, and delivery records.

5. Communication & Coordination

• Coordinate with supervisors, dispatchers, and site personnel.
• Report delays, issues, or route problems.
• Assist in loading/unloading when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Qatar Heavy Vehicle Driving License (Category 6 or equivalent)
• Minimum 2–5 years of heavy driving experience (preferably in GCC)
• Knowledge of Qatar roads, routes, and traffic regulations
• Ability to operate different heavy vehicles (depending on company needs)
• Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks/vehicles
• Good communication skills
• Physically fit and able to work in hot weather conditions

Preferred Skills

• Experience in construction, logistics, or oil & gas
• Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems
• Good safety awareness and responsible driving attitude
• Ability to work in shifts or extended hours as needed
