Duties
- Coordinate the dispatching of heavy equipment, trucks, and freight using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track equipment locations, optimize routes, and improve overall dispatch efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, project managers, and vendors via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions and updates.
- Maintain accurate data entry for shipment schedules, fleet movements, and inventory using systems like SyteLine and shipping & receiving platforms.
- Monitor fleet management metrics to ensure equipment availability, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety standards.
- Analyze transportation data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, proposing solutions to enhance supply chain performance.
- Handle phone etiquette professionally while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching heavy equipment or freight within a logistics or transportation setting.
- Strong familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or AS400.
- Knowledge of GPS, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning principles to coordinate fleet movements effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey instructions clearly over multi-line phone systems.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating logistics data and optimizing dispatch operations.
- Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and maintaining detailed records related to shipping & receiving activities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining professionalism in phone etiquette and team interactions. Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
