Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy machinery and construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

-Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, bulldozers, cranes, and other construction machinery

Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, etc.)

-Troubleshoot diesel engine systems

-Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify issues

-Maintain accurate service and repair records

-Ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards

-Respond to breakdowns in the field as needed

Qualifications:

-Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

-Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals

-Valid driver’s license

-Own tools preferred (but not required)

-Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

-Innovative in solving problems

Work Environment:

-Shop and field-based work

-May require lifting 50+ lbs

-40 hours per week

Compensation:

Competitive pay based on experience

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
