Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Help Desk Specialist to join our IT support team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance, providing exceptional customer service while resolving a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues. Your expertise will ensure smooth IT operations across the organization by delivering timely support and maintaining high standards of service quality. Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or remote access, addressing issues related to hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across various platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Manage computer hardware components such as desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain and support IT infrastructure components including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP networks, VPNs, firewalls, and LAN/WAN environments.
- Utilize tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), GPO (Group Policy Objects), ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy for incident tracking and system management.
- Assist with computer management tasks such as OS updates, software deployments, user account provisioning, and security configurations.
- Support network administration activities including configuring Meraki devices, analyzing network traffic with TCP/UDP protocols, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
Skills
- Strong technical support skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts such as TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, LAN/WAN architecture, and VPN setup.
- Proficiency in managing operating systems including Microsoft Windows Server environments and macOS; familiarity with Linux is a plus.
- Experience with computer hardware maintenance and upgrades; understanding of enterprise tools like SCCM for software deployment.
- Skilled in using help desk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy to document incidents and track resolution progress.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Analysis skills to diagnose root causes of issues quickly and implement effective solutions while maintaining high customer service standards.
