The Methodist Home has been restoring childhoods, strengthening families and building people for over 150 years. We are looking for people who would like to help us achieve our mission to provide healing and hope to children and families. We are currently seeking to hire for a Network Administrator position.

Purpose: The Help Desk Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, computer networks, peripheral equipment and system-wide electronic mail systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages; may modify specific applications for use in operational departments.

· Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.

· Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.

· Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; staffs a centralized help desk to facilitate exchange of information and advice; implements solutions or notifies outsource providers as required.

· Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including helping users assess needs and providing justification for equipment and services.

· Assists with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary.

· Other duties as assigned

· Utilizes appropriate Sanctuary tools when interacting with colleagues and residents.

· Adheres to the seven commitments of Sanctuary when carrying out work responsibilities.

· Completes assignments in a timely and accurate manner

· Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· Must be 21 years of age or older.

· Associate’s Degree in Computer Science is required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

· Computer hardware, software and peripherals such as central processing units, servers, monitors, cables, network systems, printers, plotters and modems

· Knowledge regarding techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users.

· Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Remote Support, etc. networks and telecommunications and the equipment and software required to maximize system support

· Knowledge of procedures for installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing operating systems, applicable software, hardware and peripherals using administrative application practices.

· Knowledge of principles, practices, hardware and software related to the establishment and maintenance of LAN’s and WAN’s

· Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, assembling and repairing computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers and related hardware

· Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and solving hardware and software problems;

· Experience instructing users on new or upgraded computer applications and hardware;

· Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines and procedures.

· Experience organizing own work, setting priorities and meeting critical time deadlines

· Must have a valid Driver’s License with minimum of four-year driving history and the ability to meet and remain in good standing in accordance with Agency insurance guidelines.

· Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to meet and handle the public with tact and poise.

· Must be able to multi task in a fast-paced work environment.

· Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.

· Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.

· Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents.

· Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population.

Essential Physical Requirements:

· Receive satisfactory results for a pre-employment physical, ten panel drug screen and TB test

· Must be able to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

· Must be able to travel to, but not limited to, regional offices to perform technical functions.

· Must be able to see details at close range.

· Must be able to remain in stationary positions for prolonged periods of time in constricted areas.

· Frequent use of fine motor skills such as grasping, pinching, etc.

· Frequent use of repetitive hand motions such as typing, utilizing periphery devices, etc.

· Must be able to move about an office space to access equipment, file cabinets, etc.

· Must be able to move, lift or carry equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance.

· Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees to include bending, stooping, twisting, and pulling.

· Must be able to traverse terrain throughout all campuses when necessary.

· Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

· Must be able to read and understand technical information in small print for periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.79 per hour
