Helper/Laborer

Job Purpose:

To assist finishing carpenters in performing woodworking and finishing tasks such as installation of doors, cabinets, wardrobes, moldings, and other wood-related works, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficiency at the work site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist finishing carpenters in measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wooden components.
• Carry, load, and unload materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work area.
• Prepare work areas by cleaning, organizing, and setting up necessary materials.
• Hold and position materials during cutting, assembling, and installation.
• Assist in sanding, polishing, and applying finishing materials (such as paint, varnish, or stain) under supervision.
• Follow instructions from finishing carpenters and supervisors to ensure quality work and timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and proper use of PPE.
• Perform basic site cleaning and disposal of wood scraps and other debris.

Qualifications:

• At least [High School graduate / Basic education – adjust as per requirement].
• Prior experience as a carpenter helper or construction laborer preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in carpentry.
• Physically fit and able to lift/carry heavy materials.
• Willingness to learn carpentry and finishing techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
