Position Overview:
The Hema-Tyke Childcare and Education Center is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and
experienced Director to lead our early childhood program, starting July 2026. The Director will
oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, support staff
development, and foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children.
This unique role also offers the opportunity for the Director to serve as an instructor in the classroom,
working directly with children and supporting teaching staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the childcare and education center
Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and program standards
Supervise, support, and evaluate staff
Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative team culture
Communicate effectively with families, staff, and community partners
Manage enrollment, scheduling, and daily operations
Oversee curriculum implementation aligned with early childhood best practices
Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children
Serve in classrooms as needed, providing direct instruction and support
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
(Master’s preferred)
Valid state childcare director credentials (or ability to obtain)
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in early childhood education
Previous leadership or administrative experience preferred
Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with staff and families
Willingness and ability to step into a classroom teaching role as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing a licensed childcare center
Experience with curriculum planning and staff coaching
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
