High School English Tutor/Teacher (Bilingual Mandarin)

Position: High school English Teacher (On-site)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced high school English teacher to join our dynamic faculty team. The ideal candidate should have a rich background in English literature and writing, capable of teaching various courses including:

English 9(I), Honors English 9, English 10( II), Honors English 10, English 11( III) (American Literature), English 12 (IV) (British Literature), AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and Academic Writing

The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment while promoting critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication among students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Create an inclusive classroom that encourages participation, collaboration, and respect.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including ELL and special needs students.
• Assess student progress with varied methods and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate regularly with students and families.
• Stay current on best practices in English education and participate in professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid secondary English teaching certificate/license (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years of recent high school English teaching experience.
• Knowledge of diverse teaching strategies, assessment methods, and educational technologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
• Passion for literature, writing, and inspiring students as lifelong learners.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
