Position: High school English Teacher (On-site)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced high school English teacher to join our dynamic faculty team. The ideal candidate should have a rich background in English literature and writing, capable of teaching various courses including English 9(I), Honors English 9, English 10( II), Honors English 10, English 11( III) (American Literature), English 12 (IV) (British Literature), AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and Academic Writing The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment while promoting critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication among students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Engaging Instruction: Plan, prepare, and teach dynamic, standards-aligned lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Foster an Inclusive Classroom: Create a positive learning environment that values participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Differentiate Learning: Adapt instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including English language learners and students with special needs.
  • Assess and Support Growth: Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain Classroom Management: Implement effective strategies to ensure a structured, engaging, and productive learning space.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with colleagues to design interdisciplinary units, share best practices, and align instructional goals across grade levels.
  • Engage with Families: Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians about progress, expectations, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Stay Current in the Field: Remain informed about new teaching methodologies, educational technologies, and research in English education.
  • Contribute to School Community: Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid secondary teaching certificate or license in English Language Arts (or equivalent).
  • Minimum two years of recent high school teaching experience with demonstrated success in literature and writing instruction.
  • Familiarity with a range of teaching strategies, assessment tools, and educational technologies that enhance student engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating supportive and accessible learning environments for all students.
  • Deep passion for language, literature, and education, with a focus on inspiring students’ intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and enthusiasm for continuous professional growth.
  • Compliance with all state and federal education and child welfare regulations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
