About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team in a casual dining restaurant. The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, maintain high culinary standards, ensure food safety compliance, and lead the team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menu items.
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth operations during shifts.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and assist in ordering supplies.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards.
• Train, mentor, and motivate junior kitchen team members.
• Contribute ideas for seasonal menu development and specials.
• Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Control wastage and ensure cost-effective food preparation.
• Maintain equipment and report any maintenance needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a casual dining or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and menu development.
• Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Culinary degree/diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
