Position Summary:


  • Provides for the personal care needs of the client as designated on the plan of care
  • Perform duties within the boundaries of the personal care policies and procedures
  • Reports on changes in patient’s care, condition or needs to RN Case Manager or Supervising RN in a timely manner
  • Attends a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education/in-service each year
  • Takes accurate and timely vital signs when ordered
  • Use equipment safely and properly to meet the safety needs of the patients
  • Demonstrates a high degree of commitment to customer service and the provision of quality care

POSITION SUMMARY EXPANDED:

Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, (“The Unity Bill”) this position is considered a “Safety-sensitive position. “Safety-sensitive” is defined to include “any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.” Employees working in “safety-sensitive” roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites.


Qualifications:


  • Current certification as a Certified Home Health Aide
  • One-year Home Health Aide experience preferred
  • Maintain current BLS certification
  • Has ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job function (Word, Excel, Outlook and EMR software)
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Able to work in a stressful environment
  • Compassionate, patient and caring nature
  • Current automobile insurance coverage

Continuing Education Requirements:

Agency personnel are expected to participate in appropriate ongoing education and training as required by the Agency.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be exposed to some hazards such as radiation, bodily fluids that may contain disease, and fumes from laboratory chemicals. The employee may be required to travel frequently.
