ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following reflects essential functions of the role. Additional duties may be assigned.
- Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive service to both guests and team members. Greet every guest entering the restaurant and hotel, making them feel genuinely welcome.
- Greet and acknowledge guests with a warm smile and direct eye contact.
- Recognize and welcome returning guests.
- Build rapport with guests while escorting them to their table.
- Assist with seating by pulling out chairs and/or adjusting tables as needed.
- Accommodate guest needs (e.g., wheelchair access, restroom directions, relocating beverages, etc.).
- Act as a liaison between management and service staff.
- Communicate guest feedback, including complaints and compliments, to management.
- Communicate guest needs and special occasions (e.g., anniversaries, birthdays) to staff and management.
- Invite and welcome guests to return at the conclusion of their visit.
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding business flow (e.g., anticipated orders, waitlist volume, pacing).
- Walk the floor and provide real-time updates to management (e.g., table availability).
- Ensure seating is properly rotated across all service stations to optimize service flow.
- Answer phones, manage reservations, and maintain reservation systems in accordance with procedures.
- Learn and master the Tock reservation system within two days of hire.
- Maintain strong knowledge of The Godfrey Hotel and I|O Godfrey offerings.
- Be knowledgeable about the surrounding area, including local attractions, entertainment, and retail.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company standards and service sequences.
- Consistently provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to all internal and external guests.
- Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and late hours as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
- Frequent standing (minimum of 8 hours), walking, and use of hands to handle, grasp, and carry objects.
- Frequent reaching, balancing (including carrying trays or glassware), stooping, crouching, bending, speaking, hearing, tasting, and smelling.
- Frequent use of stairs; occasional kneeling.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced, energetic, and sometimes loud. Team members should be comfortable working in a high-volume setting that can be both physically and mentally demanding.

Pay: $21.75 - $22.75 per hour
