Hello! Ocotillo is on the search for an experienced host to welcome to our team!

Specific availability is: Friday, Saturday nights and Sunday days.
Please only consider applying if you have this availability and do not have any foreseen time off longer then 2 consecutive weeks during the months of May-October.

At least 2-years of experience with RESY or a reservations software system at a high volume restaurant setting is highly preferred. We are looking for someone with a 1-year commitment only with no known extended time off greater than 2-weeks within the 1st 6-months of training.

Ocotillo is a brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner restaurant open 7-days a week! We opened in April 2024 and are located in the West End of Portland, Maine!

Being a host is not an easy task to do with grace and precision. If you are a detail orientated person that can be self-motivated to multi-task and see a bigger picture in overall restaurant operations flow- You may love being at the door at Ocotillo!

You enjoy communicating and meeting new people in the style of our embodied: "Home-style Hospitality." This is where we greet each person who comes through our doors as though we are welcoming them to our home.

As Host you are the first person guests see. It is vital to have a welcoming, soft, engaging and kind personality. One, that can relate to locals and be able to multi-task with grace.

Tasks include:

- Opening side work with the opening server and bartender
- Managing the reservations platform- Resy
- Ongoing Host side work
- Take out orders
- Answering the phone
- Communicating with the Shift Leaders about service and flow
- Communicating with the Kitchen Team regarding tight turns, large groups, pacing and flow of service constantly.
- Multi-task: Help bring fun and describe to guest, help bus and clear tables, detail and spot clean, help with glassware and be a service assistant.

We guarantee no less than $18/hr at any time-The hourly rate paid starts $16.75/hr + Tips in our full-restaurant tip pool with a Level Up opportunity to $18/HR + Host points in the tip pool.
