Rocking V Cafe is a small restaurant and popular dining destination in Kanab, UT. We are fast-paced, and our goal is to provide excellent food and service to our guests, ranging from locals of southern Utah to national and international tourists in a art-filled mercantile building from 1892.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests with a warm and friendly welcome.
• Seat guests and manage waitlist.
• Assist with answering phones and taking waitlist requests.
• Provide guests with menus and ensure they are promptly attended to.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host area.
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints.
• Assist with bussing and sanitizing tables when necessary.
• Complete all the daily assigned tasks at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Comply with food sanitation requirements and properly handle food.
• May assist in bussing and sanitizing tables or running food to guests.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.
• Maintain excellent time management and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Demonstrate and promote positive communication, attitude and conflict resolution.
• Displays respect to fellow team members and leadership.
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks when given.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
• Proficient in phone etiquette and handling waitlist requests
• Previous experience in food service, hotel, or restaurant industry is a plus
• Effectively communicate and interact with guests.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems for food and art sales.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability of changing tasks and priorities.
• Decision-making.
• Organizational skills.
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
• Ability to plan, solve problems and work as a team member.
• Self-motivated.

Requirements:

• UTAH Food Handler's Certification

Host at Rocking V Cafe earn $15.00 per hour plus any earned tips. Hosts typically earn $15 - $18 per hour.

Our shift schedules for hosts begin at 11:00 a.m. and at 4:00 p.m. with side work completion. Our 2nd shift schedules for hosts begin at 4:00 p.m. and end after close and with side work completion. We are open 7 days per week (Sunday shifts required).

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
