Host/Hostess

Overview

We are are looking for full-time applicants only please. We are a new restaurant in downtown Fairhope looking for a host/hostess who will be the welcoming face of our restaurant.
In this lively role, you will create a warm, inviting atmosphere for guests from the moment they arrive. Your enthusiasm and exceptional communication skills will ensure every guest feels valued and excited to experience our hospitality. This paid position offers an engaging environment where your friendly demeanor and organizational talents will shine, helping to deliver memorable dining experiences for all.

Our hours will be 4pm- 9pm Wednesday through Saturday and Sunday 10 am-2pm.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression of the restaurant
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as OpenTable and Toast.
• Maintain waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests, ensuring smooth flow during busy hours
• Assist guests with seating preferences and special requests, demonstrating excellent guest relations skills
• Answer incoming phone calls professionally, providing information and managing reservations with courtesy and clarity.
• Recognize returning guests and acknowledge them.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction
• Keep the host stand organized, clean, and welcoming at all times, supporting overall restaurant operations. Also assisting servers and running food.

Skills

• Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Knowledge of hospitality standards, including guest relations and phone etiquette
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Previous hotel or guest services experience is advantageous but not required
